Mind Kind

Getting the best out of therapy with Alyss Thomas

Joanna North Season 3 Episode 3

This week I am talking to Alyss Thomas who is an experienced psychotherapist.  We will discussing the democratisation of psychotherapy and how you can get the very best out of your sessions and reflecting on our own learning. If you can't afford psychotherapy it will give you ideas that you can take into your life.  We talk together about the different aspects of your life journey, the importance of taking care of yourself and having a non judgemental space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings.  We discuss the meaning of words like unconscious and the importance of improving communication.

Mind Kind is a podcast to support resilience and motivation in self care and mental health through education, discussion and reflection. We will always aim to give you actions you can consider for your own wellbeing. In this third series the field is open to give our attention to mental health and wellbeing for both children, families and adults. Jo will bring in experts from various fields to help us live our best lives.

Jo is a Doctor of Psychotherapy with many years of experience. She is not a medical doctor or clinical psychologist. Mind Kind is intended to inspire and motivate possibilities in personal development but is not a diagnostic or prescriptive tool. If you have concerns about your mental health please go to your medical professional. In the UK dial 999 in an emergency and in other parts of the world contact your health service or reach out to someone who can support you and keep you safe. At all times put your safety first.
